Docent Vinyasa & Meditatie en Yin Yoga & Yoga Nidra

Yoga has been part of my life since childhood. Growing up in a small village in North India, I was deeply inspired by my father, a dedicated yogi, and raised in an environment where yogic values and daily practice were a natural way of life. Practicing yoga was not something separate from life; it was simply part of how we lived.

Since 2018, I have been sharing the practice of yoga with students from diverse backgrounds. I completed my Yoga Teacher Training in South India within the traditional Sivananda lineage, and my teaching is rooted in Hatha Yoga, honouring yoga as a holistic practice for body, mind, and spirit.

Three years ago, I moved to the Netherlands, which has gradually become my second home. Since then, I have been teaching in Arnhem, Nijmegen, and Oosterbeek, where I have found a beautiful community through yoga.

For me, yoga is much more than a profession, it’s a way of life. I don’t believe yoga is about becoming rigid or following every rule perfectly. Instead, I see yoga as a practice that supports us through the different seasons of life. We adapt, grow, and meet ourselves where we are. Yoga doesn’t ask us to be hard on ourselves; rather, it teaches us compassion, awareness, and balance.

I believe yoga should be accessible to everyone. You don’t have to change who you are to practice yoga. You can continue living your life, and over time, the wisdom of yoga naturally finds its place within you. And when life feels overwhelming or things seem to fall apart, yoga can become an anchor—a practice that gently brings you back to yourself, your breath, and your inner strength. This is the approach I hope to share with all my students.

Kavita is hard bezig de Nederlandse taal te leren. Het kan zijn dat ze haar yogalessen nog grotendeels in het Engels geeft.
